POMEROY, Ohio (WTAP) - Two people were flown to Ohio State University Hospital after they crashed into a Meigs Co. Sheriff's vehicle in Pomeroy during a police chase.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says at 2:24 P.M. on U.S. 33 in Meigs County, an OSHP Trooper tried to stop a driver and passenger in a 2002 Honda Accord for a traffic violation.

But the driver refused to stop for the Trooper and led officers from several agencies on a chase, at speeds of over 100 MPH.

The driver led officers to State Route 833, then onto Main Street in Pomeroy, where the chase ended when the driver's vehicle crashed into a Meigs County Sheriff's Deputy's patrol vehicle.

The deputy was treated for minor injuries and released at the Meigs Branch of Holzer Hospital.

The two occupants of the Honda Accord - Marcus Ervin, 27, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Keonjta Kuhn, 26, of Columbus - had to be cut out of the vehicle by Meigs County Firefighters, and were flown by helicopter to Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus for treatment of severe injuries.
