Two sent to hospital in one-vehicle crash on Ohio State Route 60

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Two people are in the hospital Thursday after a single-car crash on State Route 60 in Lowell, Ohio.

The Lowell Fire Department responded around 3:30 p.m. of a single-vehicle accident on State Route 60, just north of Bear Creek.

Upon arriving on scene, officials say the car slammed into the guardrail.

Lowell fire chief Josh Harris says they cut the car on the passenger side to safely evacuate the two occupants.

Both were transported to Marietta Memorial. Chief Harris says they took "quite a hit" and their injuries appeared serious, but their conditions are unknown at this time. Both victims were awake and responsive getting out of the car.
