UPDATE: No one hurt in 2-vehicle crash that blocks part of Ohio Route 7 in Newport

WASHINGTON CO. Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: 11/03/2017, 11:33 AM

Ohio State Highway Patrol says no one was injured in a 2-vehicle crash that closed part of Ohio Route 7 in Newport on Friday morning around 9:45 a.m.

OSHP Troopers say a Ford F-150 pickup was driving northbound on Greene Street in Newport, as a white Chevrolet Silverado truck was driving southbound on Ohio Route 7.

Police say the Ford ran a stop sign on Greene Street and was struck by the Chevrolet.

The driver of the Ford was fined for failure to yield at a stop sign.

Both lanes of Ohio Route 7 were closed for about 20 minutes.

The right lane of Ohio Route 7 southbound was closed until 11:10 A.M., as crews cleared the crash scene.

Both trucks had to be towed from the scene.

The OSHP, Washington County Sheriff's Office, and the Newport Volunteer Fire Department & Emergency Squad all responded to the crash.

The Ohio HIghway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle accident on Ohio Route 7 and Green Street in Newport. A rescue squad was dispatched to the scene.
