VFW Post 1212 revives All American status

PARKERSBURG W.Va, (WTAP)- Parkersburg Veterans of Foreign Wars post 1212 will be recognized as an All American Post.

The VFW took part in a competition to achieve the award. Part of requirements included programs and scholarships like Patriot Pin and Voice of Democracy scholarships in addition to membership numbers.

“The All American status for the post is a competition basically between all of the 6,380 posts worldwide,” says Lisa Small, the post Commander.

“We had a very good year this year in the state of West Virginia. Not only were we named All American, the Department of West Virginia was named as an All American. Within the districts, 4 of the 5 districts were named All American, and then we have 3 posts that were also named All American. So it’s been a very good year,” notes Bud Newbrough, the Quartermaster/Adjutant for Blennerhassett Post 1212.

Out of 79 posts in West Virginia, post 1212 is one of 3 to achieve this honor this year.
