BELPRE OH, (WTAP)- While approaching holidays mean school is out of session, one local custodian is going above and beyond to take care of students even when they aren’t at school.
A craft show is being held at Belpre High School Saturday morning and afternoon to help provide toys for Belpre children.
Each vendor participating has donated a toy that will be given to a kid in need in Belpre City Schools.
The idea for the event came from a woman who has been involved with Belpre City Schools for six years.
She has held numerous fundraisers in the past to put money on lunch card and provide canned goods for families who have trouble providing meals.
She says that she wishes to do all she can to provide for the students.
“These kids have changed my life tremendously. I love them all. They don’t ask for situations that they’re in, and I wish I could do even more,” says Andrea Dixon, the organizer of the event and a custodian at Belpre High School.
The event features over 55 venders selling everything from food to crafts. It will take place from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday.
