Williamstown Police arrest South Carolina man on heroin, meth charges

WILLIAMSTOWN, West Virginia (WTAP) - Quanterio Deangelo Sitton, 33, of Greenville, S.C., was arrested by Williamstown Police after officers found heroin and methamphetamine pills hidden in his clothing during a traffic stop on Friday.

Sitton was stopped at 11:14 AM Friday at the Davincis restaurant parking lot, in the 300 block of Highland Avenue, after officers saw him commit two separate traffic violations.

Sitton was not able to give officers any type of identification, and officers saw a partial prescription pill in his lap.

He provided information that allowed officers to run a search for his South Carolina drivers license, which was found to be suspended.

Officers then removed Sitton from his vehicle and searched him, recovering a pill bottle hidden in his groin area.

Sitton told officers the pill bottle contained both methamphetamine and heroin.

Inside the bottle, officers found five individually wrapped baggies of suspected heroin and one baggy of suspected methamphetamine.

Officers also recovered a loaded and un-holstered .38 caliber handgun under the passenger seat of the car.

Additional charges may be pending related to the gun.

Sitton was arrested at the scene and was processed at the Williamstown Police Department and arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on Friday.
