WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. (WTAP) - Williamstown High School will not host track meets this spring, after a water leak under the track.
Athletic Director, Jeff Givens, says the leak caused part of the track to bubble at one of the turns. He says to be safe, they won't host any meets there until its repaired. He says that probably won't be until the 2020 season.
Williamstown will still compete in track this season, and practice at their own facility. They will make arrangements to host their scheduled meets at Parkersburg High or Parkersburg South instead, according to Givens. Last season the girls team placed second at state and hope to be competitive again this year.
