PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - As West Virginians and Ohioans prepare for deer and small game hunting and fur trapping seasons, hunters should be aware of the bag limits and season dates for each type of animal.
In West Virginia, the Buck Firearms season starts Nov. 19 and ends Dec. 1, while Deer Archery and Crossbow season ends Dec. 31.
The split season dates for Antlerless Deer are Nov. 19 to Dec. 1, Dec. 6 to Dec. 9 and Dec. 28 to Dec. 31.
West Virginia's Deer Muzzleloader season is Dec. 10-Dec.16.
Deer Youth season is Dec. 26 to Dec. 27.
Bear Gun split seasons are Nov. 19 to Dec. 1 and Dec.3 to Dec. 31.
Fall Turkey season ends Nov. 17, but Spring Turkey season runs from April 15 to May 11, 2019, with a one-day Youth Turkey season on April 13, 2019.
In Ohio, Deer Youth Gun season runs from Nov. 17 to Nov. 18.
Regular Fall Deer Gun seasons in Ohio are Nov. 26 to Dec. 2, and from Dec. 15 to Dec. 16.
Ohio's Deer Muzzleloader season runs from Jan. 5, 2019 to Jan. 8, 2019.
Deer Archery season started on Sept. 29, 2018 and ends Feb. 3, 2019.
Fall Turkey season in Ohio ends Nov. 26 and Spring Turkey Season in the South Zone runs April 22 to May 19, 2019.
Ohio's Spring Youth Turkey season runs April 13 to April 14, 2019.
The Small Game and Furbearer hunting seasons in Ohio vary by animal, but run from June 1, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2019.
Furbearer Trapping seasons in Ohio vary by animal, but run from Nov. 10, 2018 to March 15, 2019.
