The high school golf season is in full swing and the Parkersburg country club hosted the Callaway Junior Golf High School Series this afternoon.
25 teams from two states were on hand to take the challenge of the country club layout along the Ohio River.
Here is local PHS athlete Garrett Ballway looking for the birdie on the par three second, and he comes up just short, so he would go ahead and tap in for the par right there.
Now another PHS golfer looking to save par on the par five 18th, but Nicole Lincicome comes up short so she’s going to have a long putt to try to get the bogey. She’s going to need enough juice on it and she does, getting just enough of it to save the bogey.
Now it is Ballway’s turn again on the 18th, trying to save par on the 18th and this one has enough legs as it rolls into the hole with the beautiful par save. He went on to shot an 81 on the day which was good for 8 over par.
