No two things go hand in hand...more than leadership and the military.
And leadership is where U.S. Congressman Bill Johnson focused, when he addressed a gathering of U.S. Navy officers Friday.
The sixth district representative spoke about his more than 25 years in the Air Force, where he retired as a lieutenant colonel.
"Young men and women who put on the uniform and sacrifice family and professional careers, and sometimes even their own lives, to protect our freedoms," Johnson noted. "That doesn't just happen. It comes from strong leadership both up and down the military chain."
The gathering was the annual naval officer training session.
Johnson was invited by Marietta resident Jake Ward, who is retiring after a long career in the Navy, to address the officers.
